June Allyson was one of the shining stars of Hollywood’s heyday in the 1940s and 1950s. She was featured in musicals such as Two Girls and a Sailor with Van Johnson (1944) and dramas such as The Glenn Miller Story with James Stewart (1954). June also memorably portrayed Jo March in the 1949 version of Little Women. Her raspy voice and girl-next-door personality endeared her to audiences, and she continued to make guest appearances on a variety of TV shows from the 1970s through the 1990s.
