Abby's Diary by Sandra Vanderpool

Artist Sandra Vanderpool acquired the diary of a real young lady of the Victorian era, and her story inspired this very special paper doll book!

On July 13, 1870, Abby Elizabeth Woodbury sailed to Europe, leaving New York on the "Nevada"... with her mother, her older sister, and three younger brothers. She was 19 at the time, and for the next two years, she kept a diary of her travels and her observations as well as descriptions of everyday events. Using details from the diary, Sandy created this portrait paper doll of Abby and some of her fashions as mentioned in the diary.
